The final post of M:CRIOTS :-)

Hey everyone,

I am so sad that this is the last time i am going to write because i have had a blast but i have to. Today we worked on the final filming of the video and i felt great because i have had a really fun time working with RHEA, KEELEY and KELSIE because I couldn’t have asked for a better group to work with.

I am going to miss working with them.

I learnt how to write a script and make a storyboard.

Continuing the filming!

Hey everyone,

I am here to tell you that the filming is still in progress but we are determined to complete the video by the due date which is Wednesday the 3rd of june. I learnt to film using different angles and different ways of communicating with the group and i feel like I am starting to fit in the MULTI-MEDIA class which for me is tremendous.

I will tell you more next lesson.

It is time to tell you that life is grand and that the individual task got the attention that it deserves. So I got to work on the script which is underneath this information.

The Victims are at it again*.

I have missed you all and I want to know how you are?

In this lesson we worked more on our film that we will be showing at the local primary school which is great because we are actually getting a move on what should be our final product for the multi media world.

 This is a great opportunity to see what we are made of when it comes to showing people that we can make a great film for kids who are younger than us.

The Survey

This is a survey for kids in years three to six and another section for year 7.

The survey was made into a proposal so we can get the approval to do this to find out what the kids want to learn over the course of the video. If the video storyboard needs to be changed then we can according to what the kids say they want to learn in the video so it ensures that the video is entertaining and informative about the thing they want to learn.

A new Thyme* with The Victims!

Hey Everyone,

How are you today?

I am so excited today because we are able to finally start our actual project that will be taken to Brandon Park Primary School, which I am also happy because Brandon Park Primary School was my old school and i can get to see all the teachers and aids i used to work with and  get to show them that they made a good choice in showing me that i can do amazing things when i put my mind on it. 

We are working on two sets of films. One where you are doing the film individually which is a video on our local community. Then the second one is a group task on a specific part of  what happens at school. For both tasks they will need a design brief, storyboard and a script. These films will be made to be handed in on the 3rd of June. The videos are to be made to inform people about the two things i have mentioned. The group film is the priority because you are working in a group and you need to not let the team down.

The group i am working in is Keeley, Kelsie and Rhea. The film we are working on is about Bullying and we all talked in our group if we were bullied and how we got bullied and if we handled the situation in the right way. Since we were all bullied in our lives it is only fitting if we call ourselves the victims. Hence the name of the post. 

My individual film is made on my local community which I am at school is called Wheelers Hill. Since I did some research in the last term I am going to use the research to help with my film and I might even ask my teacher Mr.Allen to talk on camera and help me with talking about our community.

The client is the 9 multimedia students at Wheelers Hill Secondary College, who want us to make a proposal for the teachers and staff at Brandon Park Primary School explaining to what they are aiming to do for the school and why. Because they are a multimedia class, the product must be made in a multimedia format such as a video. They want to make a sort of introduction video to what their final product is going to be and how they are going to do it.

 

STATE THE COMMUNICATION NEED

We are making a video to shed light on what the students are trying to convey to the school and what they would like to get out of it. They want the video to explain that they want to collect a couple of people in a focus group and ask which subject they would like them to talk about in their video. They could also choose to do this through a survey or by interviewing the students.

 

DESCRIBE THE AUDIENCE

The audience will be primary school students from the grades prep-6, the teachers and principal of the school. The teachers will decide based on their opinions of the proposals and the excitement of the students towards this project. The crowd will consist of various background cultures, interests but will all be induced in the Victorian area. They will relate to the same problems most children do at that tender age.

 

DESCRIBE THE PURPOSE

The purpose is to advertise the event and to make it turn out as successful as possible. You would want the audience to be elated to participate in the interview/survey. We are contemplating who is going to be in the video and what roles we are going to have during the making of it.

It will include lots of effects to make is easy and enjoyable to watch, as well as have the people in the video speak clearly and enthusiastically to show they the class is excited and looking forward to working with their students.

Some of the constraints we are going to experience while creating the video is that we can either make the video generalized so if the school rejects our proposal then we can easily change to another school or we can include the name of the school and directly talk to them so they feel that the video is personal and that will increase the chance of approval. The timing might also be a constraint because we may not have a lot of time to convey the message properly.

Hello! I am Chantelle Orchard, a former student of Brandon Park Primary School and i loved going there but now, three years later, I am a year nine at Wheelers Hill Secondary College. This year, we were given the opportunity to work with our local community through something called the ‘community connections program’. Myself and my multimedia class chose to work with a local Primary School by making a product that interests and educates them using multimedia formats.

The calming music will keep the students at bay during the video presentation and the special effects will make them want to continue watching it.

Chet Faker day.. Rocks NOT and Brieeefs

Hey everyone,

How are you today?

Part One:

In this part of the lesson we are doing a design brief on the person/artist called Chet Faker which his real name is Nicholas James Murphy. I know why he is called a faker. The reason why is a faker is he doesn’t have any fragment of his real name. But don’t mix him up with HOIZER that sings ‘Take Me To Church”.  This was about making a brief of the album cover for his debut ‘Built In Glass’ . This was a great time to learn about a australian artist whilst practising on the design briefs so this was a great first part of the lesson.

The other thing that I had to do was to start a second brief which I have enclosed at the bottom of this post. This was a practise for our actual brief we are going to do for Brandon Park Primary School.

I think that for this lesson i might have needed to read the brief of what Chet Faker wanted because i thought it was for the concerts and not for the album cover which was so boring and not for this playlist because the hand is made of ceramics when it should be made of glass because the album is called “Built In Glass” and that name is weird anyway because it is not a name that I would put as a album name because  names like My Prerogative makes a big impact because the actual meaning of this is My Truth and that is a great album and song because it is a song.

BY NONE OTHER THAN BRITNEY SPEARS! and i love her music.

Part Two:

The second half of the lesson is about the Brandon Park Primary School and what happened is that I did one for myself and then later we got put into groups and I worked with Lucas and Alex and that is a good thing because I got to work with people I don’t usually work with and this is so weird because of  that they are boys and i work better with girls because they are more intelligent and hard working but i think that this is biased because i am a girl.

Anyway I liked today and i hope i have fun in the next one because i can predict that i am going to be having a good time and working with 3 friends of mine which are so cool.

Doing a Prezi!

Hi everyone,

Today we worked on a Prezi and it was really successful. My group members (Keeley, Rhea and Zak) did a really great job and the class was intent to the Prezi. The planning helped massively.

I really enjoyed working with my group members because I sometimes I work on my own and i liked working in a group. It was hard doing the presentation last because there was some good presentations but some were incomplete and not at a good quality. We considered a bunch of questions that were before and after the presentation because it helps to make the presentation better for you and the class to understand. I have used a word document to answer the questions which are at the bottom of this blog. We also had a choice to do a video or a presentation or article which you should already guess which one I picked. I loved this job because I can practise for what is ahead for the outline of this course. The prezi was about the transition to high school and about the misconceptions of what the hollywood movies show, which is so different because for two reasons. 1. That it is a fake set that is made with real schools and 2. We live in Australia and not in America. We had the subtopics of Fitting in, Misconceptions, Homework/schoolwork and teachers.

The work was really easy for me because I am used to doing power point which we did first but the second part (THE PREZI) was hard because this was the first time using it but it was really fun. I read most of the information but normally i dont read much so it was a good thing. My group members were easy to communicate with and the work was talked to well with the class. So I think it was a job well done. 

The work was done to a very high standard and we needed just a little more time to work on it because we needed cue cards but we didn’t use a cue card because we needed to present and my teacher didn’t give us time because the reason for the task was to see if we what we can get done in an very short amount of time to work on this. The work was so long and this blog is not as good as people think it is.

The blog is just a site for people to go in and a reason for a blog is not good because it is basically a diary/journal and the reason we have a diary is to write what we feel without any one seeing what you have wrote. So I don’t like it.

Just to sum up the work I did i thought was amazing and to the best abilities in the time frame we had but it will be past the ability level in we had more time. So i hope you liked the presentation and i will talk about what happens in my next blog.
