Multimedia – BPPS Project

Hello world…

This is my very last post for my Multimedia class and we have finished our filming finally and all we need to do now are the edits.

Not only that but the storyboard and script are officially completed as well…..

Roles

Bully: Keeley                                  Victim: Chantelle

By standers: Rhea                                Director: Kelsie

Narrator: Rhea                                                                           Producer: Kelsie

Introduction:

*Rhea walking through the lockers*

*Zoom in on rhea. Pause – facts, title and info down appear beside her*

Rhea: Hello, I am Rhea and I will be talking about types of bullying, specifically cyber-bullying. I will talk about what bullying is, why it’s important, and what effects it has. Sometime in your life, you will experience bullying. Either cyberly, verbally or physically. Look at this girl over her. She’s a victim of bullying.

Skit I

*Zoom in on Chantelle crying. Pause – facts, title and info appear beside her*

Rhea: And she’s the bully.

*Zoom on Keeley. Pause – facts, title and info appear beside her*

*Keeley texts Chantelle. Show keeley texting her – then chantelle receiving the messages*

Keeley: Haha! You’re so weird!

Keeley: Nobody likes you, loser!

Keeley: You’re so annoying!

*Zoom in on Chantelle’s phone as receives the messages*

Rhea: What exactly is cyber bullying you ask? It’s the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Keeley sending these messages to Chantelle is considered cyberbullying and, as you can see, affected her in a very negative way.

Rhea: Texting and chatting are forms of cyber-bullying if they hurt the other’s feelings.

*Chantelle ignores the message and doesn’t tell anyone.*

Rhea: Stop! Don’t do it! Always tell an adult like your parents or teacher if you feel troubled about anything.

*REWIND. REDO SCENE SO CHANTELLE DOES THE RIGHT ACTION*

Skit II

Rhea: If you don’t do anything to stop the bullying, it will continue to happen and can sometimes, if you know the person, turn into other types of bullying such as physical and emotional bullying.

*Keeley walks up to Chantelle and starts to beat her up.*

*Chantelle cries out*

Keeley: Did you get my messages, loser? Nobody likes you.

*Chantelle and Keeley pause. Camera moves to Rhea, the bystander.*

Rhea: What do you think Chantelle should do in this situation?

*PAUSE. THIS WILL ALLOW THE TEACHER TIME TO PAUSE THE VIDEO AND ASK THE STUDENTS THIS*

*Chantelle takes no action and allows Keeley to continue with her bullying*

Rhea: In this situation, Chantelle should have stood up for herself by stepping back and saying ‘No’ in a firm voice. She should have then walked away and and found a teacher, parent or guardian to tell. Telling an adult about your situation is NOT dobbing, so don’t let anyone talk you out of doing it because they tell you it is.

*REWIND. REDO SCENE SO CHANTELLE DOES THE RIGHT ACTION*

SKIT III

Rhea: These days, most cyber bullying is done not only done through texting, but through various social media websites such as facebook, twitter and tumblr. Here we have Keeley, the bully, sending mean and hurtful messages to chantelle over social media.

*Keeley sat at her  laptop. Film her sending messages to chantelle over various social media websites such as facebook and twitter*

Rhea: What Keeley is doing is very wrong, and you should never try to intentionally hurt someone, whether it be physically, mentally or over the internet.

Rhea: What should you do if someone is sending you rude, hurtful messages over social media?

*PAUSE. THIS WILL ALLOW THE TEACHER TIME TO PAUSE THE VIDEO AND ASK THE STUDENTS THIS*

*Show Chantelle receiving Keeley’s messages. She gets furious and messages her back with a ruder reply. *

Rhea: No Chantelle! you shouldn’t  have messaged Keeley back with a worse e-mail. Instead you should’ve…

*REWIND. REDO SCENE SO CHANTELLE DOES THE RIGHT ACTION* * Goes up to a teacher but doesn’t talk*

SKIT IV

Rhea:  Tell a parent, teacher or counselor you trust. Who is someone you would trust?

*PAUSE. THIS WILL ALLOW THE TEACHER TIME TO PAUSE THE VIDEO AND ASK THE STUDENTS THIS*

*Teacher and Chantelle walk up to Keeley*

Teacher: Hello Keeley, I’ve been confronted by Chantelle that you have been ill-treating her. You have been sending her rude messages that have hurt her feelings.

Keeley: No, I haven’t been bullying her!

Chantelle: Yes, you have and i dislike it very much. I have the proof to show you.

Teacher: Keeley, you don’t have to lie. Why did you bully her?

Keeley: ok… ok… I was being a bit rude to her but I wouldn’t say I was ‘bullying her’  I acted that way because I don’t like her. She’s so pretty and when I tried to be in her group of friends, they kicked me out.

Chantelle: Oh! What? I didn’t realise that. We just thought that since you stopped talking to us, you despised us and wanted your own space.

Keeley: No! You stopped hanging out with me!

Teacher: Ok girls, calm down. Both of you say sorry.

Chantelle and keeley:  Sorry.

Teacher: Keeley! You’re at fault because you shouldn’t treat anyone badly if you dislike or feel they’re doing the same thing.

With everything done but the editing i think after all we did a great job!

Thank you

– Keeley 🙂

Design Brief for BPPS

Hello worlds….

Today we have started making a design brief for a short video and I am very happy making it with our group because we are very well organised and we know what we are doing. This is the design brief so far…..

✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌✌

DESIGN BRIEF!

THE CLIENT

(Provide as much relevant background information as possible about who is hiring you)

The client of the project are the teachers and principles of Brandon Park Primary School. Another client is Mr Allen who will check and evaluate our final work.

STATE THE COMMUNICATION NEED

(Describe exactly what the client needs us to make for them)

The client would like a informative video that will go for about 10-15 minutes and the film will be about bullying. There are various types of  bullying so we can’t just be talking about everything. So, we’re going to survey students which will  determine our topic for the video.

DESCRIBE THE AUDIENCE

(Describe who will be viewing the product. Identify the relevant information about them, e.g. age; gender; interests; cultural background; location, etc.)

The audience of the film will be students of Brandon Park Primary School that are in the years 3-6. They are residents of our community and relate to a lot of things that we have been through.

DESCRIBE THE PURPOSE

(Identify what the client wants to get out of this product?)

The purpose of this product is to show the students at Brandon Park Primary School information about Bullying and also give some advice so they can know what to expect out of high school and what to do when in a situation where you are bullied.

DESCRIBE THE CONTEXT

(Where will the product be seen?)

The context which is the film will be seen in the school to the students and the teachers might even put it on their website so they can see what to do in the situation of being bullied.

STATE THE CONSTRAINTS

(Things that you need to include or specifically not include. Things that will affect your ability to complete the project, e.g. budget, timeframe, etc.)

The constraints of the project are that we have to work on two different projects at the same time. They are also due the same day.

Thats all…

Proposal Video Evalutation

hello world…

today we finished off our multimedia video and it worked out well Kelsie did the editing and Rhea, Chantelle and I worked on our evaluation and this is just some of mine

We completed our video, and I think that it was well thought out. We finished our design brief on the same day we continued on with our script. We completed shooting the video on time and I believe that it was a success. Rhea and Kelsie were editing it after we finished it off.

Multimedia – Brandon Park Primary School

Hello world…

Today Rhea, Kelsie, Chantelle and I did a design brief for Brandon Park Primary School and we have done such a great job in such a short period of time… Good Work girls.

This is some of the work that we did…

DESIGN BRIEF!

Keeley, Rhea, Kelsie and Chantelle

THE CLIENT

The client is the 9 multimedia students at Wheelers Hill Secondary College, who want us to make a proposal for the teachers and staff at Brandon Park Primary School explaining to what they are aiming to do for the school and why. Because they are a multimedia class, the product must be made in a multimedia format such as a video. They want to make a sort of introduction video to what their final product is going to be and how they are going to do it.

STATE THE COMMUNICATION NEED

We are making a video to shed light on what the students are trying to convey to the school and what they would like to get out of it. They want the video to explain that they want to collect a couple of people in a focus group and ask which subject they would like them to talk about in their video. They could also choose to do this through a survey or by interviewing the students.

DESCRIBE THE AUDIENCE

The audience will be primary school students from the grades prep-6, the teachers and principal of the school. The teachers will decide based on their opinions of the proposals and the excitement of the students towards this project. The crowd will consist of various background cultures, interests but will all be induced in the Victorian area. They will relate to the same problems most children do at that tender age.

DESCRIBE THE PURPOSE

The purpose is to advertise the event and to make it turn out as successful as possible. You would want the audience to be elated to participate in the interview/survey. We are contemplating who is going to be in the video and what roles we are going to have during the making of it.

DESCRIBE THE CONTEXT

The product will be shown to the teachers and staff at BPPS through their laptops or technological devices. It will include the purpose of what the class is doing and what they want to get out of it. It will include lots of effects to make is easy and enjoyable to watch, as well as have the people in the video speak clearly and enthusiastically to show they the class is excited and looking forward to working with their students.

STATE THE CONSTRAINTS

Some of the constraints we are going to experience while creating the video is that we can either make the video generalized so if the school rejects our proposal then we can easily change to another school or we can include the name of the school and directly talk to them so they feel that the video is personal and that will increase the chance of approval. The timing might also be a constraint because we may not have a lot of time to convey the message properly.

That’s all for today….

– Keeley 🙂

Multimedia – Design Brief

Hello world…

Today we had to make 2 design briefs one for Chet Faker and the other one for Brandon Park Primary School and this is what the brief looked like looked like…..

THE CLIENT

(Provide as much relevant background information as possible about who is hiring you)

The clients are the Year 6 teachers of Brandon Park primary school. These specific year level teachers believe that the students should have as much knowledge about the transition from year 6 to 7 as possible and should know what to expect when it comes the time to go to high school. They are committed to developing student’s individual intelligent and capabilities and they operate on a simple premise that all students can learn and succeed in acquiring the knowledge, skills and behaviours for life and work in the global knowledge economy.

STATE THE COMMUNICATION NEED

(Describe exactly what the client needs us to make for them)

The client wants us to make a video, film or vodcast about what the transition is like from year 6 to 7 and what you should expect when you are in high school. It should go for anywhere between 5-10 minutes. They want an informative, high quality video to be able to show to year 6 students every year to show them what to expect. This video can include interviews of students, teachers and others explaining what will happen and explaining prior experiences. It can also have good video editing effects and music underneath the main audio where necessary.

DESCRIBE THE AUDIENCE

(Describe who will be viewing the product. Identify the relevant information about them, e.g. age; gender; interests; cultural background; location, etc.)

The audience for this video are the year 6 students from Brandon park primary school

DESCRIBE THE PURPOSE

(Identify what the client wants to get out of this product?)

The purpose of this video is to show the year 6 students what it is like to go through the transition and what to expect. They should also learn what it is like to be in high school and how you might feel during and after the transition. It will also be made to show them how other students have gone through this transition and how they are feeling now. Finally it will show them that isn’t like the movies and high school is actually really fun and not scary.

DESCRIBE THE CONTEXT

(Where will the product be seen?)

This product will be seen once a year. It will be presented in front of all the year 6 students at Brandon park primary school.

STATE THE CONSTRAINTS

(Things that you need to include or specifically not include. Things that will affect your ability to complete the project, e.g. budget, timeframe, etc.)

The constraints of this video are that we may not have enough time to complete a high quality video. Another constraint might be the equipment we have to use and the conditions we will be working in. Another constraint is that we don’t want to come across as mature adults talking to little kids. We just want the video to seem like it is one friend describing to another friend what it is like to go from year 6 to year 7, and also they might not find it interesting and might not take any information away with them.

– Keeley 🙂
